PT 2 | In book form there may also be a way to define the actual words as they are meant to be used more fully than just the words or phrase given below. In doing the blog posting first that will also allow me time to find more technical and/or computer-related words to add to the list. I may also be able to find these words in other languages than the four {4} I have used so far.
I will not, however, use any word that is not available in all the languages that I do end up finding these terms in. Also please keep in mind that at times even on this site there are certain questions where NEITHER have been correct and so on, so I will be double checking the entries while I input them into book form as well as afterwards at least once.
Due to the length limits of posting this way, however, the information will have to be broken up somewhat, as were the various explanations and so forth. | | Over one year ago | Technical, Computer and Internet terms in English, Spanish, French, and German {for now}. | (m) stands for masculine form of the word{s}, (f) stands for feminine form of the word{s}, and (nt) stands for neutral/non-gendered form of the {words}. (noun) and (verb) mean the word is used in that form, and (pl) means plural form of the word{s}, along with any m or f being added in some cases to also indicate a certain gender.
Anything within { } brackets mean that there is additional information being given, to clarify the word, the definition, etcetera; any commas are used to show there is at least two words/phrases that can be used in that particular case in that language. In a few cases the letters inside the ( ) mean that there is a variation in the spelling of the word; there will be an explanation of such things when known.
Out of necessity the blog form with all this information is in a different format than it will be when it is put into the book form. However, in a blog post form it is easier to put all the information out directly in one form while the book form will allow for fuller comparison, learning, and testing of this information.
If there are any mistakes found, please feel free to contact me with the updated {correct} information, or with additional information. Since these examples, incomplete to a certain extent, are in languages other than my non-native language there are possibly mistakes or omissions due to having been gathered through several different sources on and off the internet.
The French, in particular, took it upon themselves in the 90's to accuse the lingo of being too American; they have since proceeded to remake various words in some cases where the other languages have not. Usually the words will mimic to a great extent the American {English} version, although that is not always the case. |
